David Lim, 36. The leader of the 1st Singapore Everest Expedition 1998, his experience includes more than 32 alpine and Himalayan ascents.

He summitted Dhaulagiri VII (7246m) in Nepal, Cho Oyu (8201m) in Tibet and most recently in Feb 2000, Aconcagua (6962m) in Argentina.

He now conducts media consultancy workshops and motivational talks.

Mohd Rozani bin Maarof, 33. Another 1998 Everest team member, Rozani reached the South Summit of Everest at 8750m in May 1998 on the first summit attempt. Rozani successfully climbed Cho Oyu in 1997.

He has great enthusiasm for the north ridge of Everest and its particular technical challenges. His high-level rock-climbing skills will be an asset for the North Ridge’s unique problems. Rozani works as a service technician.
Tok Beng Cheong, 32. A mountaineer with experience climbing serious alpine routes, Tok has climbed routes that include the Gervasutti Pillar and the Frontier Ridge in the French Alps. Together with David Lim, he climbed Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Americas, alpine-style. Beng Cheong works as a Student Development Officer with Singapore Polytechnic..
BASE CAMP SUPPORT/ TECHNICAL OFFICER:
Wong Ting Sern, 44.
A computer science and technology expert, Ting Sern will be overseeing the team’s satellite communications, webcasts, digital cameras and weather reports. An accomplished mountaineer, Ting Sern was the first Singaporean to climb Mt McKinley (6194m) in Alaska, USA and has summitted numerous Himalayan peaks including Cholatse in the Everest region.
Gil Francisco Piekarz, 45. Brazilian. Gil is a geologist by profession and has had ascents many Andean peaks including Aconcagua (twice), Huascaran, Illimani and Artesonraju, all in South America. He has made parapente descents from several of these including Illimani in Bolivia.Gil is very friendly and is a great climbing partner. Likes to drink "mate", South-America's version of green tea.
